"A Romantic and Maximalist Floral Event at Manoir de Varcheresses
The floral arrangements and décor for this event at Manoir de Varcheresses were a testament to a shared vision of romance and maximalism, where every detail was carefully curated. Together with Gilberto, we decided to highlight seasonal blooms that would embody the essence of our inspiration.
The idea took shape during a memorable FaceTime call. Gilberto, who was in Paris at the iconic Place des Vosges, and I shared an obsession with Copper Vienna chrysanthemums. We both agreed they had to be the centerpiece of the event. Though sourcing this rare variety proved challenging, it became the driving force behind our creative process. To complement this standout bloom, we selected sophisticated garden roses like Cappuccino, Mocca, Bayley, Vuvuzela, and the renowned Juliette and Tess by David Austin Roses. We also incorporated other favorites such as Vanda Orchids, Clematis, and Dahlias, which added depth and texture to the arrangements.
The magic happened just before Christmas when a wholesaler surprised us with a large shipment of Copper Vienna chrysanthemums. It was then clear that they would be the undisputed star of the show.
To enhance the timeless beauty of Manoir de Varcheresses, we envisioned a "sea of blooms," complemented by linens with refined patterns and textures. In the ballroom, the setup of the tables was nothing short of genius. Bistro tables and chairs were transformed with elegant, floor-length tablecloths that added a touch of sophistication.
The overall concept also included carefully selected fabrics and materials to add drama and texture to the space. Monannie Cakes created a masterpiece that perfectly embodied the theme: a stunning cake adorned with a delicate sugar bow at its central tier, paired with lifelike sugar flowers that were nothing short of art.
Lastly, with the apple trees surrounding the venue at the height of their season, we decided to incorporate apples into the décor. Inspired by Dutch Masters’ paintings, we used them as opulent accents throughout, adding natural richness and a nod to the abundance of the season.
This event was a true celebration of beauty and creativity, where every bloom and decorative detail came together to transform the Manoir into a living masterpiece.
